Part 1: Music of the Hebrew Bible II, 2000-06-13 at SOAS, University of London. A lunchtime lecture entitled 'Cantillation of the Bible [session 1 of 2]'. Victor Tunkel, consultant to the JMI, looks at th e origin and nature of the notation systems and their implementation by Jews across the world.


Part 2: Music of the Hebrew Bible III, 2000-06-14 at SOAS, University of London. A lunchtime lecture entitled 'Can you hear us?' Ruth Rosenfelder, whose doctoral thesis is on wom en's music in Traditional Judaism, discusses views on the subject of women's involvement in music making in the Bible.


Note that the documentation of B56-2 and B56-3 indicates that both contain the material from the same events; it is not clear whether the tapes are duplicated or contain different material.
